the rite of the womb

The Rite of the Womb is part of the Munay-Ki tradition of rites and rituals. It was first downloaded by a female shaman in the Amazon jungle.

Whether or not one has a womb, we all have a creative space in our bodies and that is what is honored here.

First, we set the intention: Coming together to heal our relationship with mother energy, to heal pain and suffering in our lineage, and the burden on female energy through the ages. It’s time now for amplification of female energy in the world. We’ll be clearing fear and pain from where we emerge into human life – a human womb, with all its history and pain, seen and unseen. We choose to see strength in the feminine, not weakness. We see power, not shame. We identify ourselves as strong carriers of Spirit.

This gentle yet powerful rite is about aligning with the infinite love and compassion of the Divine Mother, the primordial deity, accepting comfort and support that we all yearn for from our human mothers and often do not receive.

From the SW Portland circle:

“I received an invitation from Elizabeth to attend the Rite of the Womb gathering a few weeks ago. I honestly had no idea what it was and what my womb had to do with anything as I never had children. But, I trust Elizabeth and figured there would be a good reason for this. I’m glad I followed my instincts.

The rite was about far more than my childless life, it involved feelings about my mother as well. My trust extended to all the other women in the circle as it felt safe, profound, calming, and healing. I highly recommend this for any woman who wants to have a very different experience from her day-to-day life. The calmness has continued weeks later.” ~ Linda C., Portland OR

“I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know what a beautiful experience I had. What a great group of women, the healing energy was so strong and I walked away feeling clearer and more at peace.

Thank you so much for leading such a special experience. ~ Amber S, Lake Oswego, OR

From an individual session:

“I've noticed a huge shift in mindset and overall attitude towards the day and just life in general. You have such an amazing gift. I'm happy to hear others getting to receive this from you. I'm feeling overall much more positive and grateful for what the day brings me.” ~ Vyvyan D. Portland, OR.

As a group of all who identify as women, we come together to share in our reconnection with the blissful seedbed of life – the womb of the Divine Mother. Together, our energy is powerful. From all our different origins and stories, we come together as one human story. We are united as we wish to see the world united in emerging into a nurturing presence of unconditional love. In this way, we are at the heart of the expansion and evolution of Consciousness.

The lineage of women who received and pass on the rite have freed themselves from suffering and want us to remember:
The womb is not a place to store fear and pain; the womb is to create and give birth to life.

The Rite of the Womb is part of the Munay-ki initiations, a body of wisdom tha come from the spiritual Andes. The Munay-Ki are ten rites which prepare us to birth ourselves wholly into the times to come.

Any women, including LGBTQ+ and genderqueer individuals, who are eager to remember this vital truth in their bodies are welcome to receive the rite. Once they receive the Rite of the Womb they are part of the lineage of Womb Keepers.

In becoming Womb Keepers, we also become stewards of life, and we can feel our own creativity expanding. Our children and our creations are no longer in a lineage of fear and conflict, but the children and creations of light, with natural inclinations to be aligned with Earth keepers.

Let’s heal our wombs, the creative centers of our bodies. Let’s expand this healing to our mothers’, sisters’, girlfriends’ and daughters’ wombs. And to the womb of the Earth and of the Divine Mother. In this way, let’s offer healing to Mother Earth and all living beings.

After receiving this rite, our individual womb spaces are cleared of pain, fear and sadness. We can feel more grounded in ourselves. We belong to Universal Motherhood, even if we have not become human mothers ourselves. As the forgotten wisdom of the womb, our creative center, is restored, we can confidently create the world we desire.
